Can someone please explain the difference between these two parts? The master cylinder vs the clutch master cylinder.

I had fluid leaking down the clutch pedal, so I replaced the master cylinder. Now my clutch pedal is sticking to the ground. People are now recommending I replace the clutch master cylinder. Is there any point in that?

The master cylinder is for the brakes. The clutch master cylinder is for the clutch. There was probably nothing wrong with your (brake) master cylinder to begin with. It was the clutch master cylinder all along. Replace it. They are in short supply so you'll have to search around.

Got it thank you. So just to confirm that first link I sent for the master cylinder is for the brakes?

Yes. If you look at the website tree it's in the brake parts section. The clutch master is an assembly which includes the clutch pedal.

The confusion comes because both the clutch and the brakes share one fluid reservoir. They are, however, completely separate hydraulic pressure systems.
