If I get a new FiST with nav, is there any other difference in the head unit or sound system other than it having navigation in the software? I use Android Auto so is there any benefit at all in having the nav system? Thanks!

Mine came with the nav. On a road trip, I couldn't find an address with the nav, but my phone had it. Later, I couldn't find an address on the phone, and the nav had it.
To answer your question, the system is the same, just without nav.
I have the Nav and find it real wonky...it always has been. Its almost 2020 and ford (Lower case f no respect intended) still hasn't really figured it out....Total Idiots! If I had it my way I might not have gotten it if I had the choice.
I've been using the Sync 3 navigation in my 2018 F150 for a year and a half with no problems at all. It appears to be exactly the same in our 2019 Fiesta. The advantage that you might have over your phone's navigation would be if you are someplace that doesn't have cell service (we have a lot of our state without cell coverage). The Sync 3 Nav uses Sirius XM.
AA all the way. Mine has NAV, but I don’t use it - no point, I have live traffic on Google maps. And, if you are somewhere without a cell signal often - download an offline map; works like a charm.
