so I installed the Eibach rear anti sway bar and I noticed it was rubbing my exhaust, I didn't think it ws a big deal. I installed it per their instructions. I took it for a test drive and noticed all sorts of banging so I ws a little upset. I went home and called Eibach this morning. I spole to a tech named Dave, he wanted pictures. I went and crawled underneath and noticed the sway bar had damaged the spare tire well! I have called Eibach several times and they seem to not give a shit I asked for a manager and they said they would call me back, we will see.... I will post pics in a few. I am soo frustrated

All you had to do was ask.

Would this touch the no positions skis plate during travel? I think it's just the angle I'm looking at that makes me wonder.

How is the installation of the front bar? Cobb wants to charge $450.00 worth of labor to do the sway bar installation because they say the front bar is a real PITA to fit. I'd do it myself but I have no (safe) jacks or even a place to do it. lol. Someone who has done the install (correctly), please chime in. Thanks

It is less than fun to be sure. You have to unbolt the downpipe/steering rack/etc and drop the front subframe down to get at it. You can't do it without stands and some sort of jack to support the subframe when its unbolted. Not overly hard just takes patience, I would avoid it as a first upgrade, only if you are looking to upgrade everything.

It is a pretty good pain took me about 2 hours to do the install. Car was on jack stands. Hardest part is getting the new thicker sway bar in. The stock one came out pretty easy. But yeah you have to unbolt the cross member brace and support it with a jack.

I takes about ONE hour (book time) if you have a lift.
Yes it Is a job I would pay someone else to do.
At a shop that knows what they are doing it should cost about $100.00.
None of what was said above needs to be done.
You just need to unbolt the two clamps and the end links.
What is hard to do is get it out as it needs to be turned and there is not enough room unless the car is more than 3 feet off the ground.
I have done it on the Fiesta three times now.

Sorry to take this thread off topic.

One of the very few mods I have not done is drop the subframe to swap the FSB but on many cars including my street and race vettes I built you have to align the subframe when bolting it back up to the car or it will be misaligned which is not a good thing unless you like a crab walking car(thrust angle misaligned)

Having said that I would either mark the stock bolt up location before dropping it or find out if it aligns right where it was before loosening it up.

As I said above, you do NOT need to drop the sub frame to remove the front sway bar.

If you do decide to preform this task on your back ( not recommended).
Then you will only need to remove the two rear most sub frame bolts and only loosen the front two bolts but do not remove them.
The rear of the sub frame will lower about two inches.

This is also the best way to remove the OE down pipe with cat and shields.

There is no alignment of the sub frame on this platform.
So there is no worries just bolt it back up.
If your front sub frame requires alignment then you have bent your car.
You should then seek professional help.
