Engine tick goes away with clutch

I bought a 2014 Fiesta ST and I had a ticking noise that seemed to come from my engine at around 7,000 miles, but went away when I pressed the clutch. When it started it was hardly noticeable, but eventually it became so loud that friends started asking me what was wrong. When I brought it into the dealership, they said that they had never seen this issue before. They had me come in twice in two weeks to check it with no answers as to what it was. I brought the car in a third time and they had it for over a week, asking the main ford service department in detroit twice what to check, since they didn't know where to start. Eventually they found out that the clutch (they did not tell me what part) and the clutch slave master cylinder had both broken and needed to be replaced. A new clutch and slave cylinder were ordered but when the new slave cylinder was put in, it started leaking. They claimed the new part was defective and ordered a second one and the same thing happened to the second one so they ordered a THIRD new slave cylinder and finally that one worked. 5,000 miles later and everything is OK but I was wondering if anyone else had an issue like this and how it was resolved. I would have posted this at the time but I just joined the forum!

I had an '02 Mustang that had the same problem at 3000 miles. Dealer replaced the clutch, and no more problems for the rest of it's life.

Awesome that's good to know, I was slightly worried it was going to come back.
