Haven't seen anyone using Speeduino personally in a direct injection car, and would assume calibrating for DI would be the biggest hurdle.
I haven't seen flow number comparisons of any port/head work done on the lil 1.6. I have looked at the head, and would say unless you have a machine shop hook up, I wouldn't spend the cash on headwork. Camshafts and a built bottom end to utilize a higher rpm band will give you the biggest gains assuming you are looking at 45lb/min+ turbos. The heads on these cars are really good IMO.
