Is there a difference between green and K&N other than color?

FA1914 is the same size and shape, but has three glue strips on the dirt side. I got a FA1904 from the parts store, and too late to return it, but I suspect 1914 is better than 1904. 1914 made in Spain, 1904 is from Mexico like the car, though.

Anybody know why these two, almost identical p/ns exist?

I do know that the owner's manual for my '16 has a mistake for the air filter part number, calling for an FA-1908, which is actually the part number for a Focus ST.I have been getting the Motorcraft FA-1914 for the last few years and have been pleased with it, but I can't help you on what difference there might be between an FA-1904 and an FA-1914.

Any parts number for Cone/Clamp on filters that still fit in the stock box? I.E. for use with a CAI kit like the original 2017 Cobb one that uses the OEM airbox?
