I bought a set today. I was offered a possible solution of raising the redline to 7k instead of 6500. Is that really gonna be an issue? I’m aiming to NOT bang it off the rev limiter consistently. I haven’t heard of too many Fiestas with valve float issues.
Peterson, I think you might be trying to do to much at once. Though I have only just dipped my toe in STH, I've been running my FiST since 2017 in at least a dozen events per year. Driver then Tires are the biggest mods, and after that it might be more individual preferences (ran into many FiSTs even with different HS stuff on them). Another huge thing (IMHO) is the track layout, some just favor some car types over others. Your car is indeed built, and there are plenty of events in our area, I would concentrate on just going out ever weekend you can and testing what you have for now and adjusting yourself to the car. Are you going to Foxwoods on May 1?

Peterson,
CT, one of the Casinos. This is a sport where most of us have to travel a decent distance for events (25 to 75 mile-ish). Motorsportreg.com is a good sight and another is Autox4u.com for the NJ area. Lot of clubs, within that distance for you, some get in more runs than others.

^^^Are any of those Meadowlands courses set more 'open' (i.e.; faster) than all of the super tight, Miata favoring courses I remember from when I was still in Joyzee (like Morris County Community College, Englishtown, etc.)?

Yes most definitely. Some Miatas in top 10 raw, but some other interesting cars as well.
