Full Cage Pics

I’m planning to run a couple of hillclimbs and need a full cage. I considered adding Autopower’s front section to my existing rollbar but I’d like to see pics of cages in 5 door Fiestas if anyone has one. Thanks in advance.

Not the post I was looking for homeboy. You gotta splitter that jiggles. 😂 I’m not building a rally car. I just wanna do a few hill climbs a year. No need to gut my shit for that.

I don’t think SCCA does but the Appalachian hill climb did. I’d feel a lot safer and probably go faster with a cage. Man our cars are built for hill climbs. We should go.

When I built my '73 Toyota Corolla for rallying, I had my cage custom made by Steve Scott here in Los Angeles. I had 80 feet of cage in that car. I wasn't taking any chances because it saved me when I crashed coming out of the Grand Canyon. Crossed the line at the end of the stage, couldn't make the corner and flew about 10 feet down and hit the deck. My 6 point harness stretched and my helmet hit the steering wheel. Do NOT skimp on safety! I survived!

There’s no way I’d do a hill climb without a cage. I’ve decided to have a custom cage built here in Atlanta. Hoping to see what others have done but have full trust in my builder. Hopefully some pics popup in here for me and others down the road.

Taking out the existing cage or adding to it?

Here's my 6 point bolt in cage by JP Cages. There are several companies making off the shelf cages for the Fiesta in the UK, JP are one and SW Motorsports are another. I suspect shipping will make it uneconomical to buy from here, but your cage builder might be able to take some reference points from them. I believe the Airtec Fiesta ST240 championship is using the SW Motorsports cage.

My cage was supplied with weld in foot pads, once those were welded in I covered them with seam sealer and painted them. One thing that might make a bolt in cage difficult in the US is that to fit all of the cages I researched, you need to remove one of the front doors. Given the doors on the 3 door are much larger than the 5 door I wonder how it would be done. Maybe custom weld in is the only way.

That is a "bolt in" cage, so its design will be different. It also doesn't attach to the firewall, a-pillars, B-pillars, etc. A weld in cage is really the best way to go. The door bars need to be plated to keep them from seperating and I am not a huge fan of the weird connection pillar to the floor. Should have run those bars out to the rockers and attached there for better strength.
