Turns out the failure was much more comprehensive than just the bolt, completely lost the cylinder end of the mount that goes to the transmission which one can notice in the first pics but I missed that on a quick look. Unfortunately I don't think their warranty would cover since it's been more than a year and under "competition" use. I really like this mount but hard to say what caused the failure ultimately, and need to decide what to replace it with. Launches were never above 4k rpm but it did see plenty of autox and hard track use.

You will also need the spacer that goes between the bushing and the trans case.

The bolt was loose and it worked back and forth until that bushing broke.

AWR mount and whoosh bolts installed with a tiny bit of blue loctite, just in time to hopefully run the ring with Lemon this weekend. Really like how it includes its own bracket vs the Vibra. Will definitely incorporate more bolt checks this time around during oil changes just in case.

Bean meetup was a great success, had a lot of fun hanging out with Lemon and his lads. The nordschleife was crazy busy with lots of crashes and yellows, but still managed to get in 5 decent laps on Saturday.

Thanks! It's amazing, the videos and sims are great for kind of learning where to go but they don't do the elevation changes justice. It's very fun but also extremely scary

Big update time: took the bean across the channel to STealthwerx in the UK for some maintenance and upgrades! It's a really amazing shop, Gareth knows these cars inside and out which showed instantly. He's super passionate to make sure every customer is taken care of with no BS. Here's his summary of everything that was done since I can't say it better myself:




They also upgraded me to a ST200 airbox for no extra monies, and gave her a much needed bath. Currently working with Tunewerks again to get the software sorted for 93, so I haven't gotten to see what the s280 can do full tilt but I rode along in theirs and it's pretty insane so I can't wait. Will be using the Turbosmart 7psi actuator but they gave me an extra spring in case we need to up it to 14. Even on low boost it gives the car a completely different feel and sounds like a jet engine. I have a track day at the Nordschleife in early November which will be slightly terrifying, hopefully the weather holds out for that. Next up for the bean will just be fresh pads for the ring, likely the GLOC R14s again.

Got to meet up with Lemon in London as well which was also really cool! Great food and tons to see. Hopefully we can make it to some UK track days together next season.








Lastly, I've been thinking a lot about what direction I want to go with this car. Part of me wants to take it back to being a little more comfortable but still trackable daily and future family car since the BRZ is a better platform to build on and compete in the future, but I have a few years to make that decision still unless I want to do RCN at the 'Ring.

I'm not a tuner so don't quote me but the main issue was boost control on the top end that they needed more time with, and I assume with that he's talking about the MAP on our cars vs MAF on the EU/UK.

Europe uses MAF for tuning, our North American models run off the MAP sensor or speed density which is a better tuning strategy for power....

I mean, it is completely different tuning wise to EU, in hindsight I would of needed double the allocated time to sign off a tune I would of been happy with. There was a couple of load limits being hit at higher rpm to finish but even then, I would of wanted to put some decent miles on it to verify no driveability issues especially on a car that isn't local, the most important thing is customer support long term and reliability.

Regardless it was a great experience for us to deal with something the same but also very different, having spent 10+ years on EU Fiesta ST's, the amount of detail differences kept me amused for hours!

Nordschleife track day was a great success! Think I did around 16 laps on the day, and got some good instruction by a Dutch race driver. The car felt great overall, ran 20 psi with the base map of the s280 and still hit 140mph leading up to Schwedenkreuz and on the Dottinger hohe. The weather was amazing for November, slight wet spots in the morning and fully cool and dry the rest of the day. Ran new Pagid pads which felt great all day, and the RS4s were grippy enough for plenty of laps. I didn't have data running later in the day, but I think the full lap time is in the low 9 minute range currently. I'll try to upload some footage later but unfortunately they don't allow external cameras and my current setup doesn't work great in the cabin.

Finally got through some of the track day footage, not super happy with the go pro location and the swaying but it works. This was one of my afternoon laps before my 2nd instructional session, unfortunately with yellow flags.

Still working on dialing in the s280 with Tunewerks, up to 25 ish psi currently but I'm loving it so far on 93. 1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless however on these cold and wet German roads. Heading back to the Nordschleife tomorrow for the last day of tourist laps, weather looks pretty decent hopefully!

Man, what an opportunity to get to take your personal car to Europe and visit all these cool places and meet all these awesome people. I would like to see how different our taco mobiles are to the sauerkraut cars. Wonder what all is different. Wonder if they German cars have better quality.

Its nice to have some real power now. Power that doesn't fall off makes these cars so much more enjoyable.,

What kinds of differences did you see beyond the ones mentioned? (Obviously the drivers seat on the "right" side of the car. )
