Loud clicking/ticking sound under the steering wheel (MK8 ST)

Hello all,

I've had an annoying noise while driving for a few weeks now. It is only at low speeds such as parking or stationary (see video below).

For example, when I turn the steering wheel from right to left, you hear a loud ticking sound. The garage around the corner had a look / listened and they think that the sound comes from the steering column or wheelhouse and refers me to a specialist or revision company ...

Does anyone recognize this problem or does anyone need ideas/advice?
