Lower rear defuser removal?

Has anyone removed the lower rear defuser (painted section) without removing the bumper? I'm having trouble with the clips.

Ok here it goes, success.
Step1. Drill pot rivets on ends of lower defuser with 3/16 drill bit.
Step2. Remove 2 plastic nuts (with fingers) attached to wheel well from middle of defuser.
Step3. Starting from one side and working across, push clips down and push out. Some may require the help of a flat head screwdriver.
