Guys, the reason I picked the Conti's is because I live in Western PA. That means snow. Sometimes, it means A LOT of snow. The Conti's are the only all-seasons that aren't complete shit in snow. And no, I won't be buying snow tires because I'm poor and starting school....again.....which means I will be enhancing my poor. Guess I'll be sticking with stock wheels.

No. and just no! Why not in the living hell are you not using Winter tires for Winter?

Do a set of wheels for each season and stop making me sweat at yellow lights.

Feel free to buy some snow tires for me. Otherwise, don't tell me how to manage my finances.

I had 205/45/17 gmax tires shorty after buying my FiST dec 2013 and i had horrible experience with them in 20degree light snow. Many times my car wanted to go straight when turning at very very slow speeds. Sidewalls are soft as hell. Busted one on the freeway doing 80mph which felt like a small speed bump of some sort. Couldve been a pothole but didnt feel like one.
On dry and wet the tires were great but you can feel the tire flex when cornering hard but were comfy and quiet.
You might have a better experience with a 50series 16" tire. But just chiming in with my experience on oe wheels.

Search cl for cheap 15 inch rim. I paid 50 for some focus alloys. New snows from tire rack $250. Mounting $50. All seasons suck lol.

They take up area little over 2ft x 2ft and less than 3ft tall. Hard to believe anyone couldn't find room unless they live In car. I just know I'll never have performance car on all seasons. Takes away from fun in summer months and takes away driver control in snow months

Maybe they have an apartment in the city? Maybe they rent a room in someone's house. Don't assume anything. There aren't many people who are going to out-drive a good set of UHP all-seasons in this car. Not everyone is going to track their car.

Besides studying all the tests I can find, talking to tire experts and owned and used most of the top rated all seasons, summer only as well as a few winter tires what I have found is:

1) Conti all seasons, absolutely best in bad weather but lacking in summer use by quite a margin, to me they are more like a winter tire you can drive all year but give up quite a bit of performance.

2) Mich PS all seasons, absolute best 3 season tire I have ever used. I know they will be marginal in the snow but I have driven hundreds of thousands of winter weather miles and only had 2 sets of winter tires ever so I can get by with them though do not plan to drive the car in the snow, to many mods now so it is a three season car.

3) UHP summer tires, running the 225/45/15 BFG Rival S on 9" wide wheels(8" wide would be perfectly fine) they are light years better than the PS A/S3 in all performance areas with the probable exception of rain use, even quieter and ride better. I was not going to go that route, just use the PS for everything but the track but wanted to get a bit more grip with the power I have and found I love them so glad I tried them out:)

You have to use what you need, can afford and store so picking a compromise is often required, been there many times myself.

One thing that might help, the recommendation of a low cost set of winter wheels and tires can be stored in an apartment, just double bag them, stack and put a top and drape something over them so they become a table, etc, done that as well:)

That's not I wanted to hear lol. I bought the Gmax because they were 40 bucks cheaper a tire than the continental . These were the 2nd best ones . I cheap out last year and had sumitumo a/s and they were horrible on svt focus.

I wanted some aftermarket wheels so I figure I wrapped them with some good all season . Didn't want to buy snow tires and wheels and aftermarket wheels . Too much money . As long as I can get around with few inches of snow on the ground I be happy . I don't auto cross or track so I don't care if they're not the best for summer performance .

Are we not talking about tires ?
What are the beefiest tires I can go with on the stock wheels with no drop? Given the ungodly rough roads in Pittsburgh, I probably won't be touching the actual suspension of my car.


Also, relevance.
