Wondering if anyone here running the Pilot Sport 5s?

I've been on a set of Dunlop Direzza for a few years now. Still have some.life left but they are aging (I put like 2k miles a yr)

Curious how the Michelins do grip wise? I am tuned with a whoosh hybrid, can easily break the direzzas free in second. Looks like the Michelin are a 340 whereas the direzza are 200.

I don't see Direzza available in 215/40/17 anymore but the Michelin I see in 205/40/17 and thinking they may be a great choice when I replace. I have 7.5" wide wheels, hoping the 205 will sit OK on those

The Direzza Z3 was a 200TW tire. The PS5 is a Max Performance category tire, not as high. If you had the old DZ102 the PS5 might be better. Hard to say because the Direzzas are discontinued so they've never been compared to the PS5.

I don't really think 200TW make great street tires, especially for longitudinal grip. Stiff sidewalls and compounds that generally need plenty of heat to turn on. Its difficult to get them in their ideal operating range on the street. I suspect the Pilot Sport 5 will have better traction in all street scenarios across a broad temp range.

I run the PS4S as street/wet track tires on my C6 and they work extremely well above 45°. Last time out at Thunderhill I actually ran within half a second of my PB which was on wider, stickier 200TW tires. Conditions were good for power, but I struggled to get the 200TW to turn on in the damp conditions.
