Mountune MR230

Would getting the MR230 kit, then going with a custom tune from Randy be the best way to go about it? Obviously the warranty is already out the window for the most part, but that seems to be a good route to go.

No, the mr230 come with the "mtune" access port. The mtune only works with the mp215 and the mr230 tune. You would need to purchase a vanilla accessport to get a custom tune.

From the results and feedback posted, I think you would be best off just going with a custom tune (maybe from another tuner too).

I have a seemingly dumb question for you. What did you do with the parts that were replaced? Sell them? Keep them?

I have no idea what to do with mine when I convert to MR230 on the 22nd.

Keep them in case next buyer wants it? I don't think the resale value for the stock parts is all that great, not worth our while here in Canada especially with shipping so $$$

Yeah, storage is an issue in my Condo, but I will find a way.

my exhaust went to scrap since no takers for it locally, the rest of the parts could fit in a box in my garage.

If I had to do it all again I would have scrapped the mp215 kit for an intake and Cobb AP only because I didn't now it was going to be such a hassle to turn it back to stock and do custom tune. Also, when you decide you need more power than the mp215 kit and want a custom tune you might as well throw away the mtune because it's non transferable. I love the car but now that I've finished everything the way I like it, I'm itching for some more power.

If you haven't already, you might want to talk to a few tuners about whether or not you actually need to return the car to stock to get a custom tune. I am in the same boat and have heard from some members that you do need to revert to stock and others that you don't. One member said they went with a custom tune after the MP215 without reverting it to stock with no issue. I agree with you though, if I could do it all over again I would just buy an accessport, the peace of mind in keeping the warranty is nice, but it's unfortunate that the accessport it locked.
