Just bought 2015 Fiesta ST Oxford White with Recaro seats from a dealership in Kansas a couple of weeks back, after doing a lot of research in the "hot hatch" segment of the market.
It came down to a VW Golf GTI and a Fiesta ST. I wouldn't say no-contest, because it was a few agonizing days of thinking and rethinking about why I wanted to get this vehicle. I finally decided on the Fiesta ST, and it has been a lot of fun. GTI is a great car, and if I had the luxury of money I would buy both, but it was a bit too refined for what I wanted out of a fun little vehicle. Besides, the overall value of the Fiesta ST could not be ignored. The vehicle interior actually was not as bad/cheap as I expected, perhaps because I had such a low expectation after hearing about how cheap it was from so many reviewers. Love the Recaro seats. I'm about average in terms of height/build, and it fits me perfectly. I will be taking a 5 hour road trip with the vehicle later this month to see how it comfortable it is.
Iowa having a fair amount of dirt roads, the ride can be a bit rough due to the suspension, but it hasn't been terrible, and I try to avoid dirt roads as much as I can, which works out for me because I get to drive the car a bit more during my commute and on errands.
So far so good. My next step in the next six months or so would be to add the Cobb Accessport to it, since it seems to be the easiest, most bang-for-buck DIY modification that I can do on my own. I would like to progress up the ladder on the Cobb stages in the next couple of years. Problem is that there aren't a lot of experienced tuners in the area of Iowa (Southeast) I'm at. If anybody has any suggestions on a good tuner who can do Cobb products, I'm all ears.
