I'm almost the proud owner of my own Fiesta ST.
I bought it second hand and i'm going to pick it up next weekend.

I have a question about the original exhaust system. The car has an aftermarket system on it but I need to take the original system with me.
According to the owner it can't be disassembled, but I find this rather strange.

Now, is this true? If this is so, I need to pull a trailer along.

Let me understand this correctly, the old owner is asking for you to take the original exhaust system with you when you purchase the vehicle right? I see nothing wrong with that and it might be a good idea to keep the stock system just in case of future emission issues.

I want to know if the original system can be disassembled in pieces so I can put it in the trunk of my other car.
The old owner claims it can't be done.

It needs to be cut. If you cut it in the straight areas you can always easily reweld it.

Get yourself a cheap chain-type exhaust tubing cutter. It will easily and quickly section the exhaust system.

So it's true that it's one piece.
Any idea what the dimensions of the system are?

I probably going to cut it but I prefer keeping it whole.

Well the down side to keeping it whole would be if you decided to reinstall it you would need to drop the rear suspension. If you were to cut it towards the end you could have it welded without dropping the suspension.

The exhaust probably would not fit in the car as one piece. Just my guess, I could be wrong

If you want to keep it whole then go ahead but I also recommend cutting it for the same reason stated above.
