P0012, P0014, and P0330 after engine and turbo overhaul

Well I can do that tomorrow. My daughters asleep right now so I'm trying to stay where I can hear her if she wakes up. So tyler from mountune told me to track 4 parameters. VCT-E ANG Act. VCT-E ANG Des. VCT-I ANG Act. and VCT-I ANG Des. One of the things I noticed is at idle everything remains very close to 0 as it should. As soon as I rev it out in neutral the desired goes up but the actual stays at 0.

Tyler says its probably a blown fuse. If my desired and actual were different at idle he says timing would be off but since they aren't and it only happens as the accelerator is pressed it could be a fuse or relay issue. I did happen to spark the engine once or twice... Tee Hee.

Does anyone know if there is a separate solenoid fuse in the cabin? Or is it just the one fuse and relay under the hood? Also, could the relay being bad cause this problem as well? My understanding of a relay is that it just directs power when its needed like a switch.

I think I'm gonna need either Ford or an automotive electrician to look at this.... So I tested the fuses, both fuses are good for the camshaft position and vvt. Engine on I get fluctuating voltage between 12-14.6 as I'd expect on the position sensors. Not sure what time the vvt is supposed to have voltage so couldn't do a good test there.

That's why it was so hard for me to swallow the fact it could have been off. I've heard so many good things about mountune and the biggest purchase I make and the most important comes from them and it's off? I didn't think that was going to happen. The owner of the shop I have it at said he will be able to give me a guarantee on the problem within an hour of them opening tomorrow. Ford did verify its absolutely not electrical and I hooked everything up correctly which was a relief.

Keep us posted on mountune’s response.
So far the only people on this forum that have in invested in Mountune engines (short block and long block) have had problems and quite frankly, this just plane sucks. For a company that manufactures race car engines you would think that their excellent quality control would transition to the consumer side of the business.
I am definitely bummed to hear this and hope no damage was done from the timing being off and then forgetting to install the hpfp cam bucket. Have the shop take note of how far off it is. Mountune should also be footing the bill for all of this. Absolutely unacceptable.

That is why I said it before.
Crate engines from Ford are not assembled directly by Ford but by a third party vendor.
The one I bought directly from Ford was assembled by Hawaii Racing.
I too thought it was assembled by Ford.
They do not come off the line and they are not run/tested.
Hopefully no damage was done and you will be able to get it corrected.

A quote from the Ford master tech who owns the business as tell as the Ford master tech who serviced my car was as long as the cam timing is off no more than 2 degrees the car is drivable. They told me I should be okay. It's the only reason I drove it around at all.
