Paint Correction DIY - Performance Blue paint code?

Hi everyone,

I'm the 3rd owner of my 2015 FiSt in Performance Blue, and while the car is great mechanically, the previous owner seems to have had a scuff up on the front end. Specifically, the hood is pretty brutal, and looks to have been repaired by a drunk blind man. The rest of the car I can likely just cut and polish to make look 99% new, but the hood needs more TLC. I was considering trying to wet sand it and then re-spray it myself, as I have heard that many OEM colors are now available in aerosol cans, and I've seen many DIY'ers get a half-decent result from rattle cans.

I wanted to ask if anyone has tried this with Performance Blue, since it seems to be a semi-metallic, and not sure if it'd be doable with a 2-stage (1 paint, 2 clear) process? If so, can anyone share the paint code used, and the vendor or brand of the paint? I have seen Eastwood and a few others mentioned, but obviously the color match is more important than the brand name.

And yes, I know it won't be perfect, but this is a 120k mile, live-outside, daily beater, so I'm mostly just looking for better than the current situation below:

wow. um....

that might be a case where i'd just pull the hood after wet sanding it down and prepping it, and taking it to a paint shop to just spray it for whatever flat rate you can negotiate. Performance Blue has 2 codes. be careful.

mine is the same as yours. L1 is the one you want. FM is the later 2018 and on code that is lighter.

I don't think a cut and buff is going to make that look nice. i pulled the hood on our van when the clear coat failed and just sanded, primed and prepped it for paint, threw it in the back of the Fiesta and drove it to a paint shop where they sprayed it to 95% good (there were some nibs left but it was only $350). a coat of ceramic and i was happy, especially since it immediately got a chip on it on the first road trip.
