So I take it you will not use the MAP Clamp thingie for round 1 of the turbo testing?
It will not be used on the dyno. And after a custom tune is built for it , it will no longer be needed. Its not a end all, say all have to have. Its cheap and it works. And even with the cobb tunes, it adds response and still runs safely.

I'm not saying anything about it, I was just curious if you would be running it during the testing. When is that testing going to happen?

I'd like to have it done by this weekend. Just we are building more than one turbo. We have local businesses that we rebuild industrial turbos for ( diesels ), ecoboost F-150's, fiat 500's, and we have 2 fiesta ST turbos this week. So hopefully, we can get both the fiesta ST turbo's built and I can get it on to see if setting up the turbo time is even worth while. Your a bit of an expert, what is your educated guess on the OTS tunes running this turbo? I mean... It could just be totally un-happy and un-safe and can't be dyno'd without a custom tune. I'm betting the OTS stg3 91oct tune will handle it though. It will keep the boost down to STG3 levels (23psi basically), it will keep the timing mild (13* or less), and it runs the richest AFR ( like 11.7 on mine I think).

But what do you think? Think the OTS tunes can adjust for the air flow?

I can and will when a custom tune is made. I'm using OtS tunes that are not adjustable without paying more money to cobb or a race tuner. Honestly, on the cobb stg3 OtS tune, it doesn't add almost any boost at all, but it adds response.
The stage 3 OTS map should add 2-2.5 psi of boost. If you're seeing +6? timing correction then your tune isn't remotely near good enough for the fuel/environment you're running in. Considering that the new turbo should be getting a pro-tune to start, it would make sense to have already had a pro-tune to compare against. Then you are only going to see the actual benefit of the turbo and not the turbo+ tune.

You clearly did not read all the post. The TUrbo transformer does not add 2psi to the cobb stg3, not that the cobb stage3 didn't add boost over stock.

I also have posted datalogs, feel free to read them yourself. Timing, afr, boost. Its all there.

I read what I quoted and maybe read it wrong. It looked like you were saying that the OTS tune doesn't add boost. It's not that big of a deal, so don't try and make it out to be one.

I'd be more than happy to help you tweak the tune for the turbo. Do you have ATR yet? Get it!! ;)

It means... If "turbo transformer" wasn't mentioned, you wouldn't care.
Why are you always making such a big deal out of this? Is it really such a bad thing that people question products that come into the market and want to see legitimate results? I follow most all of the threads-not just ones that concern the TT. I didn't even make a single comment about it until you brought it up.

Razor I plan to buy the ATR asap. My personal money ( that goes into my car for mods) is all tied up. I'll just say I have an ex-wife and 4 kids, lol. But I do plan to buy Access tuner. I'm sure i can "get around it" mostly, but I'm just not on the level like some of you guys. I'm used to more simple tuning devices, or should I say more "analog" ways, lol.

That being said, I'll post datalogs ( like I always do) when I get the turbo on and you can see where it needs work and we can go from there. But as far as soon, I'm already eating the dyno time on this. But don't think I'm not very aware that its going to need some love :)

The best part about me doing the "this is what you can do on a budget" part of the testing is that.... Almost no one is on a tighter budget than me , lol.

You know, Brian I am very interested in how this goes. I may have a way to help out with the Atr software, I would be willing to trade the tuner my niece has on her Focus St which was my original as long as your looks like new. Let me know I can talk to her if you want.

I have the access port, its just the tunerware. You mean they have an access port with access tuner software and we could just trade access ports?

I don't know if that would work... But I'm listening :)

Yes I purchased the accesstuner software on my first tuner I purchased in march, I wanted to try Randy's tunes to compare to the freektunes so I had to purchase a new tuner from Mountune. Cobb would not switch the software to my new tuner so when she bought it from me the software is not being used. So unmarry yours and hers swap and I send you a link for the download attached to that tuners serial.
