Hey guys so I just wanted to mention this because I actually had no clue until recently. Do not tighten your axle nuts with an impact. I had to use one to get it off which is fine but putting it back on it has to be torqued to spec. Now I didn't know how little torque these things require. According to the manual you torque them to 60 ft lbs (it's actually 59 but Im rounding up). Thanks for your time and hopefully y'all don't squeesh your bearing like I did and screw up your hubs.

Please nobody listen to this. Torque spec for the axle nuts is 188ft lbs or 255nm.
This is the correct value. Several uggahduggahs from an impact gun can easily exceed 250fl-lbs. in addition the axle nuts are a type of tri-lobe locknut, and locknuts are especially bad with impact guns

EDIT 0940h: Will see if can find AXLE lug nuts in the manual.

EDIT 0943h: 188 lb ft confirmed. They recommend a new nut but implies that this is due to a thread-locker adhesive.

Never had any issues with my OEM lug nuts until I took it to a tire shop. Then they swole up. Fortunately I got to them before it was impossible to get a socket over them.
Some years ago @M-Sport fan turned me on to the McGaurd lug nuts and have been using them ever since; no chipping and still look good.

The Ford Service Manual for my 2016 Fiesta (2013 procedure revision) specifies "100 lb ft (135Nm)" and this is what I've always used. I have two sets of factory wheels.

The manual ordinarily lists different procedures for the varying options between Fiesta vehicles, but for the "Wheels and Tires" procedure, does not.

^^^TRUE on any of the factory wheels, but some aftermarket wheels state 80 or 90 lb. ft. for their specific wheels.

Since I only own aftermarket wheels currently (except for the steelie spare), I compromise/interpolate and go either 90 or 95 lb. ft. on the torque, even though all three sets (although not sure on the Dekagrams??) have those steel lug bore inserts.

For lug nuts, I’ve been having really good luck with McGard “spline drive” nuts. They have a captive washer that once torqued with a second check pass, rarely end up needing anything additional when I check them after the first drive.

Are those 15" wheels and not 17"?
