SRT-4 to Fiesta ST

Ive had many cars and my 2005 SRT-4 was the most fun out of them all.......till this Fiesta ST. I was going to hold out and get into something AWD like the Focus RS but bought a 2006 Viper. I traded my SRT-4 and some cash for it. Really like the viper but its a very serious car. I do mountain running or canyon carving and its good , maybe to good. A friend of mine bought the SRT-4 off the guy I traded it to and wanted me to take him for a ride in it. This is where I screwed up lol. I missed that rally car feel. Doing research on the RS I always found stuff about the fiesta ST. The reviews sounded to good but I couldn't find a bad one on the car. I admit I bought the car without test driving it only going off the reviews. I took it to the mountains and fell in love with the car. I couldn't believe how good the car handles. I think on real tight mountain roads it may be quicker than the Viper or just more fun.

Anyway hello all.

Welcome!

I actually did the same thing in that I got my FiST without specifically test driving one. I had drove the FoST and had been shopping for one for a bit, but something kept nagging me to look at the Fiesta instead. I found an awesome deal on a really low mileage one with the specific package I wanted so I decided to take a leap of faith. Almost six months into ownership and I still can't help but smile every time I take it out for a drive.

Cheers and have fun with it!

There were actually some (like Mopar engineer Doug Shepherd) who campaigned them in SCCA Pro Rally in the Group 5 class. ;)
Still doesn't explain how an SRT-4 has a "rally car feel". Never got that "feel" when I drove an SRT-4. Not saying it's a bad car, they're fun. But they don't elicit that emotion in me what so ever.

You didn't drive mine. It was setup like a rally car. The fiesta feels like a rally car or you don't think so?

Welcome! I did almost similar, I had put a deposit on a low mileage one optioned the way I wanted a couple hours away from me without ever test driving it. Luckily a dealership up the road got a used base model in and I went and test drove it... never looked back.

I did the same thing. Watched like 99 different videos and reviews of the FiST. Researched for like a month and went out and bought my loaded 15 Oxford white. The dealer called me 3 days in a row, "your car is here, oh wait someone else bought it. Your car is here, oh wait, another dealer grabbed it." By the 3rd phone call I told him I better not hear any more excuses. I went from ordering a Tuxedo black, to settling for a Molten Orange to ending up with the white beauty you see here. Enjoy. I enjoy mine every day.

Totally agree and good choice. I had the same thoughts with my last vehicles and planned on a RS. I was beyond bored with my FoST as I only planned to have it for 2 years but going on 3.5 and having the RS on backorder didn't help.

Maybe I was blind but I always knew the FiST was an amazing car just not to this level. It instills fun in the driver which isn't that the whole reason we drive in the first place? Many reviews constantly compare the RS to the FiST and some even go further saying it's more fun especially as a DD. What sold me was the ability as well, a great aftermarket is set up and you can make the FiST a very quick car.

Nice to have you join, you may find that this will be your go to canyon carver though :)

Can't figure out how to post pics from my phone lol.
I was having this problem earlier, I found a link on here that said "full site" if you go to the non mobile site on your phone you can post pictures. Only thing is that iPhone pictures are too big to post so you will have to email them to yourself or resize them using an app. Hope this helps! Congrats on your purchase!
