Standalone GPS

Did any of you guys without the Navi option find a tidy way to mount a standalone GPS unit with one of the gazillion mounting brackets/gizmos out there?

I have the nav on mine but use the Garmin Portable Friction Mount on my other car. I like it because I can quickly hide it when I'm parked somewhere.

There are also CD Slot Mounts too.

Where do you put the friction mount? I've been leaning towards the CD slot idea as I don't think I'll ever play CDs.
