I have done significant troubleshooting, and I'm at the end of my rope. I have been using the Ford service manual, but unable to diagnose the problem. Original owner, car in pristine condition, always stored in climate controlled garage, never even driven in the rain. Here's the executive summary:
Car has less than 3k miles over the past 9 years, rarely gets driven. After two months idle, was unable to use key fob, unlock car, or start it. After getting inside with the physical key, was unable to start car. Second key fob, same results. Both key fob batteries dead (approximately 0VDC) - put in new 2032s (3.3VDC). No change, pressing any button on the key fobs has no effect. Pressing the START button, with or without the key fob against the START button has no effect, other than throwing a 'key not detected' notification on center console display. Car battery is fine (on trickle). Checked every fuse in both boxes, all good. Horn, lights, emergency flashers, radio all work. The dash warning light test and usual routine that occurs when ignition is ON, does not happen. None of the lights on the dash come on, no matter what. Suggestions, please.
