Get some plastic trim sticks and do it in your driveway* it was as easy as pie .....taking out my Sync 2 and going to Sync 3 unit. There are a bunch of videos on it also on screwtube
The APIM itself won't add NAV, but rather allow it to accept the map SD card. Unlike Sync 3 where NAV APIMs have more internal storage for maps, the Sync 2/MFT simply is programmed to recognize a map SD card.
If @Nighthawk is including the map card, this is the easiest way to add NAV for a great price! Pulling the screen hood off takes like a minute and the screen just screws in.
