My first car was a 1982 Mercury Lynx with a 4 speed manual. It would strain and barely make it to 89 mph. Then, I decided to go to Meineke muffler to get a muffler delete and have an Ansa resonator tip installed. After that, I could take it up to 125 mph with no problems. I wish I had payed attention to the fuel mileage.
