I'm sure a few of you have experienced this issue, where the hood ajar warning chimes with the hood latched securely. I work on electronics for a living so I verified continuity (switch is fine) and a jumper just to test...

NADA

The error is still present😮‍💨. I removed power and then crossed leads to discharge any capacitors without any success. My next step I guess is a new battery but I don't seen to have any other battery related issues..

Somebody just tell me I won't need a BCM, those things are expensive😤

I’ve fixed this very issue on several Fiestas, the always works method is strip 1/4” of the wires about an inch back, twist and solder. I put an OEM latch on my ST and have been GTG. Of course ymmv.

I would agree typically but the switch has proven tested in working order, I still created a jumper between the lines just in case but no such luck... The pop up interupts my music is so annoying lol

Did you test continuity for the entire circuit? Where does it terminate?
I haven't found a schematic that shows it's trace yet, it disappears into the loom...

Maybe I'll spend the time this weekend and open the loom 🤷🏼‍♂️

Im new to the ST, but Id assume there's a plug that goes to whatever module. Probably don't need to open up the loom. I'd try to find that schematic of I were you
