I'd like to suggest a sticky for these.

Attached is the factor fill report on my 2015. Looks like a 5w20 was used at the factory, but it wasn't Motorcraft given the lack of Boron. More to come.

I personally think Ford uses a different blend as factory fill. It could also be a more "euro" blend since the engines are assembled in the UK and put in the car in Mexico.

Nice to see at thread like this start...definitely a good idea especially if we can get a large number of different oils to compare. You may want to mask your personal information though. Most here are honest, I hope, but there are always a few everywhere, especially on public forums.

I will say that I pulled the oil filler cap on mine tonight with 300 miles on it and I can smell the fuel. I need to drive it a bit longer with longer trips and see how it goes and maybe lay off the boost a bit. Maybe get some of that to evaporate in to the PCV. The idling from today and when we got all that snow probably didn't help.

I haven't had a car since 2003 that didn't stink up the oil of fuel after a couple of drives. This being my 3rd GDI Id speculate they are a little worse.

Wow, no fuel dilution at all. Did you not order it with a TBN analysis? That would tell us if it still had miles left or not. Everything looks good.

There's fuel in there. Blackstone doesn't test for it specifically, but instead does a calculation based upon the flash point and viscosity. Still not much or oils are all become much more shear stable. Valvoline conventional and Mobil1 have stood out lately but maybe ConocoPhillips (Motorcraft) have stepped up their game.

I've been running Amsoil for the last 2 oil changes. I'm changing oil this month so I'll post those results as soon as I get them. I'll include a TBN analysis.

Right and the flash point and viscosity both look good so it's not enough to worry about. Not that fuel in the oil has shown to be harmful but this is far better than the 2.0 and 3.5 Ecoboosts I have seen.

I have built many engines and never had it as strong as mine was last night. You shouldn't smell it as soon as you pop the cap standing in front of the car. After driving it quite a bit today it I just checked it and it at least didn't hit me as soon as I popped the cap so some good driving helped.

I don't have that intrusive a smell ever but I'm at altitude so I'm probably running a little leaner.

Regarding the fuel present in the oil the only issue I've read about is theoretically this is influencing valve deposits. Some argue sheared oil protects less, but they should be its on discussion outside these uoas.

Good idea here. I just changed the oil at 290 miles and took a sample. Will post results.

Thinking again at 1500 and then 5000.

Is it all worth it? Who knows but I plan on keeping this for the long term so why not.

Here's a picture of the oil sample before I send it out. The picture doesn't show it well, but it's green.

I have seen oil like this before come out of brand new industrial engines, John Deere, Perkins, Isuzu etc.

Did any of yours come out greenish?

yes, the color is from the assembly/break-in lube used when the motor was first put together at the factory. I also have a 5k mile oil sample of the factory fill enroute to blackstone, will share results when I have them

Yeah, mine had it too. I've heard other fords have it as well. I don't know how credible it is, but a couple years ago I heard this was to help verify you changed the oil per specifications.

I have 2 more UOAs coming. One at 607 miles and another at 1,265. Just need to get them in the mail.

Result of the factory fill changed out at 5,000 miles, now running Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20.
