What Tire do you guys run

I have a 2015 fiesta st with OEM Wheels and just want to know what are good cheap performance tire upgrades.

Depends on what level of performance you are looking for. As suggested by others, I picked up a set of Firestone Indy 500s and have been pretty satisfied with them. I would say they come to about 85% of the OEM ones in terms of grip at the limit. Overall they are good summer performance tire and be had for a great price on tire rack.

I also have the Firestone Indy 500 and would agree with what you say about their grip. They do give up a little bit of the quick immediate turn in that the OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires have, so I considered two going back to those, but they were unavailable on Tire Rack last time I looked. The local Firestone dealer quoted me a really high price of about $1350 for a set of four mounted and balanced, and they also had to special-order them, which I didn't like because I like tires that are readily available if I damage one and it can't be fixed.
For the combination of decent performance, good price, and ready availability, I think the Firestone Indy 500 are currently the best bet. This is assuming that you don't want to go with an Extreme Performance tire, which I didn't because I run them all year round, it doesn't snow enough to justify winter tires here in North Carolina, and figured they would just be really really bad in cold weather.

The Indy 500 is great but obviously not for that price point. Currently I have Dunlop Direzza ZIII in 215/40/17 that I also really enjoy!

Correct, the Indy 500's run about $470 for a set of four on Tire Rack, plus mounting and balancing.

I'm dropped by and inch or so and have wider tires and have no issues with rub or anything. Would highly recommend a wider tire, especially this one

I agree, even if the OEM Potenza's were readily available I wouldn't spend that much more than the Indy 500's on them. When the OEM Potenza's were on Tire Rack, you could get them for as little as $640 for a set of four. I would gladly pay that much more to get that last little bit of crisp turn in, but unfortunately it's a moot point, because they seem to be going away.

Your first post said tire upgrades neither of those are upgrades.

Dunlop Direzza ZIII is a upgrade, and is the next tire I will purchase.

It blows my mind how many people choose to replace their tires with worse than oem performance tires on what's supposed to be a fun grippy car.

I believe that Capri was referring to the scarce 050As with that quoted price.

ANY OEM tire, especially the B-stone ones are going to be BIG bucks, even on Tire Rack/DTD, etc.

Really? I switched from OEM to Indy 500 and felt like they easily had 2x the grip.

It will almost always feel that way when you switch because you are comparing old, hardened, worn out rubber to brand new.
