Who makes the Stock Ford Radiator?

Anyone have an OEM Fiesta radiator laying around that can look and see if there are any markings that suggest who makes it? Is it Denso, Visteon, Valeo, etc?

I have a stock one, completely undamaged if you're looking for a stock item. Have a Mountune one fitted.

My car would over heat driving to work and don't waste your time on track. At least it now makes it more than 2 laps and does fine in the summer here.

I like that the OEM core has fin density light years beyond the aftermarket radiators. Was debating putting a pair of them together, but I think a 2in core won't package very well in a stock engine bay.

Before I even read this post, that is what I thought you had in mind when you mentioned "kicking around ideas" above.

I had no clue that the fin density in the factory unit was that great as compared to the aftermarket ones.

Maybe that's why my still factory radiator equipped car never goes above ~217*F or so, even on a 95*F day, even in stop and go traffic (but I do run a full quart of the LubeGard Kool-It additive, along with a ~75% water/25% Motorcraft coolant mix in the summer)?? [dunno]

Of course, if I drove it as brutally as many (most?) do on here in those ambient temps, or open tracked it in that heat, it would most likely blow up.

The one thing strange about my car in particular, which seems to be the exact opposite to what everyone else on here experiences is that when sitting in traffic in the heat, and the temps start creeping up into the 210 range, as soon as I turn on the AC (and of course that activates the high speed fan setting), the temps start tumbling right down to the mid to high 180s range, and then stay there, no matter how 'heat soaked' the radiator gets.

Again, it makes me wish that we had a manual fan override switch (like I had on other rides) for just that purpose.

IF I could have the above switch, I would probably not even consider an aftermarket radiator, except for the getting rid of the crappy, leak prone, plastic end tanks one accomplishes with the quality aftermarket units.

I suspect your tuner could change the on/off points for the fan in the tune. I may look at that in the future, but currently I am pretty happy with my ducting and cooling performance. However I used a shitty Mishimoto radiator and its weeping slightly I think.

The fin density on the OEM radiator is IMPRESSIVE.

The old fans you used to be able to put a simple relay on them. But the four wire pulse-width modulation fans, forget it.

BTW, in a prior car I had inadvertently ruined my OEM radiator by hitting it with a cold concentrated stream of water in one spot at the car wash. (trying to wash it) Rapidly cooling this one spot on the HOT radiator, exceeded the metal's thermal gradient; leading to micro fractures that gradually expanded with time. Initial evidence of this was a wet sucking sound from that spot, that started a few minutes after engine shutdown. Took some additional hot/cold cycles before it started to push coolant out.

So I took the opportunity to purchase an aftermarket all-aluminum radiator that did not have plastic side tanks. It lasted maybe a year or two? With few exceptions like KYB quick struts or CarQuest parts, aftermarket parts were generally junk for that car.

I Kinda tend to agree, the Mishimoto radiator I used in my car is garbage, but I am not taking it out now until it fully shits the bed. I will try Koyo next time or have PWR make one. (of course that is stupid money).

It fascinates me that you killed an OEM radiator like that.

I am OK with the multi speed fans, that seems like a solid idea, beside we should be able to change the points with the tune.
