The dealer I work at includes a "Pulse" feature on all new vehicles, which is a resistor/module that makes the brake light pulsate 3 times before going solid. It is a new safety feature that many new vehicles are including and we had a few extra units laying around, so I had a technician wire one in for me.

It's wired in behind the third brake light in the spoiler. Unbolt the light and it uses removable connectors to tap into the existing wiring. I will pull it apart today and show how it's wired, I bought one of our technicians lunch for putting it in, took him less than 10 minutes. I've also noticed since I installed it that people stay further away from me, so the intention definitely works at raising others awareness. Plus I think it looks pretty cool.

I actually got a hookup on one and will sell it for $50. If anyone is interested let me know. I can make a real for sale thread too if need be. The screws to get the tail light out are T20.

Wiring is really easy:
- Black to black/purple
- Red to blue/white
- Yellow to blue/white at connector

I replied to your FS thread. This is exactly what I need. I've been hit from behind and in general people follow me way too closely and I've had several almost hit me from behind recently because they were not paying attention. Thanks for sharing, maybe this will prevent me from dying via rear end collision.

Cool! Got your PM, will reply in a few. I will say it has significantly helped people to back off, as people tend to ride close due to slower traffic.

If anyone still wants to take me up on my other offer, I can get these at cost for $65.00.

So who else would be interested in one? I will make a list and do a bulk purchase next week.

And here is why this is better than the eBay crap.

.
Pulse is the only pulsing third brake light that meets regulatory requirements for use in all 50 states. Step on the brake pedal and Pulse goes to work pulsing, rather than flashing, the third brake light. What?s the difference? DOT regulations restrict flashing lights to emergency vehicles. Our award winning rear-end collision avoidance technology causes the third brake light to remain steady burning and within the acceptable range of specified minimum and maximum photometric thresholds, throughout the pulsing cycle.
That and a 5 year warranty.

Since this is NOT a vender's thread I will offer another alternative.

Brake_Light_Pulsar

I have been using the very same one for 13 years now and it was only $25.00.

Dave
My only issue with that one is that it needs a rain suit. But good alternative better price to. Now to see if they ship to Canada.

Yes they ship to Canada.

As I said, I have been using the same one for 13 years.
It is just stuck into my car's wing with a little double sided tape.
NO water has ever gotten inside the wing, on my Mini, Fiesta SES, or FiST.
But if you wanted, you could use some heat shrink tubing or even electrical tape to add protection.
Or you could pay more than twice as much for someone the wrap it for you.

Ya did the deck with led strip lighting and simply use clear heat shrink and dielectric grease at the openings.

Updated the video to show the initial pulsation and then what happens after you tap immediately after, then how it pulsates again after 10 seconds.
