RedlineGoods Shift boot install?

So I'm trying to install my new shift boot and I'm about to get an ulcer trying to figure out how to install it. The instructions from their site are absolutely terrible and there are no YouTube videos on it. I thought there was a write up on here somewhere with better installation pics and instructions, but I can't find it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this black piece off. Any advise or would be super helpful.

But that is after you get the original boot off. It just simply slides off the shifter (once the shift knob is removed). It may get caught on the threads. Also make sure the car in not in reverse.

Even the Boomba video shows it is very easy.

Aha, I had an extra nut on mine for my newer shift knob. I got it off, now onto the next step.

you need a staple gun and some heft, else some crazy glue would work.

+1 CA (superglue).

I used a superglue gel with a 15 sec hardening time, made by loctite. Little easier for me to apply without making a mess and the 15 seconds gave time to adjust things if need be. Standard superglue will do fine though.

You dont' need to weld the thing on. Just some dabs where the staples are. Can be cut out to return to stock and you would not see it as it is covered by the trim.

I might as well have welded mine on.I used some ridiculous wood staples I use for wood working.

You aren't too far off topic! I got it from Etsy super cheap and good quality! He also sells Dragonball Star shift knobs. The size you want is 12x1.25.
