Have not updated for a few and thought I would let all know I /We are going to be switching to a Garrett GTX2867r DHM turbo upgrade kit as the EFR was fine and made good power it just seemed a little less than I am looking for in the future as more go fast parts come out for our cars I wanted to have the turbo ready to get to the next level I am thinking of. Not that I will go there but wanted to visit this in depth once so we switched to a bigger unit and will let everyone know as it progresses. I am excited to see the GTX Kit and the pretty Tial parts that will be fitted with the near porn style weld I am sure we will see soon..
I think in the end the EFR was near 320-330ish hp with good gas and WMI.. Hope Russ from DHM can give more details and add some closing remarks when he gets time..

(THESE ARE STOCK PHOTOS BTW OF THE NET)

External wastegate.... HECK YES !! I think back pressure is a huge issue on this motor. A bigger turbine/turbine housing adds too much lag, the equalizer? External wastegate.
I don't care about external wastegate noise/sound. I don't care about boost control (which is improved greatly), I don't care about shiny parts, I care about lower EGT's, I care about less back pressure, I care about a more effective exhaust system. (If 30% of your exhaust flow is dumped via the external wastegate, you've effective increased your Dowpipe/catback size by 30%.

I've researched it a little on smaller exhaust housings and turbine wheel applications and when I can, I'm def going that route on a cyborg. I do think the effects/gains will be less on a larger turbo vs a smaller one, but none the less, if your gonna go all out, GO ALL OUT.

I just want to share this with you guys and everyone else. Cool comparison of Rods car vs a similar car with a Cobb FMIC

Both cars are upgraded turbos, Both cars run withen 1psi of boost, both cars have the same intake, both cars have intake air temps within in 4deg's, and the difference is our DHM intercooler vs Cobb FMIC.

Just a quick old update(peron efr kit) While calibrating rodmoe 's car i had close to a dozen 280-290whp pulls on 93oct. I wanted to see how fair i could push the 93oct. We had good cold air and this was the highest log we seen. Boost was on a rising curve to keep the car linear and not killing the tires (3500rpm spool@20psi to 7400rpm@26psi). At the end of the pull you could see were the injectors were running out of room.

Can I ask why you guys decided to the switch over from EFR to GTX turbo??
When you run out of fuel you have very little options to make more power. Increasing your VE is the best way to make more power on a file limited set up. The GTX will do so. Also Rod expressed that he had larger goals down the road and the efr was not going to cut it for that.

Rod can add to this.
