I will NEVER forget the way ford DUMPS on their consumers here in the states...that's for dam sure. The fist was my first new ford and my last ford....Sad.
I was in college when rumblings of the Fiesta coming stateside started. I graduated in Dec. 2010, and had a new Fiesta SE by the end of the next year.

I had my hopes up that the ST would find its way over and then it did. Finally got one in Nov. 2016.

Love this car but I'd go for an mk8 in a heartbeat.

Never buying a new Ford again.

I really do not understand why all (most) of you are crapping on Ford about this. Sure it sucks but it is almost certainly due to product demand. Taking into consideration transport cost and parts/warranty support Ford loses money on the Fiesta in the states. Does anyone here HONESTLY expect Ford to LOSE money just so they can sell 4K~ FiSTs a year??

And to address the idea that Ford "dumps" on their customers.... they are no better or worse than any other car brand. Hell, if you consider the Octane Academy and the HUGE amount of Mustang customer interaction then I would argue they are better than most brands (when it comes to enthusiasts).

Also, whether you like it or not (and I know most of you don't), the Edge/Explorer STs are geared to what the AMERICAN market wants.

Yep if the new one came to the states Iā€™d buy one ASAP. Ford could have done way better with cars if they focused on issues and advertising. I have a ecosport for a loaner right now and I canā€™t see why anyone would buy the stupid thing. Swear it has less rear seat room than my fist and the damn seat bottoms are so little feels like siting on park bench. Iā€™d buy a crv or something over it any day.

THIS!!!^^^
I blame the lemming, follower, 'size is SAFER, and makes me feel like a BIG man', populist, popular mentality in these here 'Murricun states for the whole debacle, NOT a car company trying to stay in business. [wink]

Now, them not addressing any warranty claims, or screwing their customers over that way, is a whole 'nother kettle o' stinky fish. [:(]

My wife and I are thinking about getting a Kia stinger in about 3 years it would be the 4 cylinder all wheel drive premium model.
The 3.3 v6 is just a little too costly for me when equally equipped.
The problem with Kia is the dealerships can be kind of scummy they prey on people who have poor credit scores and don't know better.

The V6 GT2 is so nice though! Had a chance to drive one at a test drive event and was blown away, especially at its price point.

Oh I definitely believe you. Just a little too pricey for me. I'm big on trying to pay off my house early and save for retirement and so forth, so I don't like to have a massive car expense.
It's not just the price of the car is the consumables. I'll have to get a separate set of wheels for it I can't run summer tires all year round, it uses more gas etc. The car would be for my wife so it would just be a daily driver.
Having all wheel drive would prevent my wife from having to rent a vehicle when she drives up to upstate New York every other year around Christmas time. The Vehicles we have now are worthless in the snow without a snow tire, but a good all season tire with all-wheel drive seems to do well when she's up there in a rental. Of course I may want her to get a rental to prevent wear and tear and salt.
So long story short the GT model with all-wheel drive is to expensive.

Right now she drives a 2011 Mazda 3 hatchback. The 2-liter turbocharged engine will be a big step up in power.
I don't plan on purchasing a vehicle until 2022 of course circumstances change like a vehicle getting totaled.

Not sure how they dumped on anyone. If there is no market why would Ford continue to sell them here? They made a smart business decision that upsets FiST buyers like me and you. Keep in mind the regular Fiesta was a disaster with the tranny issues will still cost many, many millions to correct. And they plain did not sell well. Many dealers did not even stock the ST version. If you were a dealer with limited space you will want to stock and sell what people want, and what they want from Ford is trucks and SUV's. Since Ford makes lots more on them than cars the stockholders are pleased. If the market returns Ford will still have Fiesta's in the rest of the world and could quickly gear up for US models. I too hate it, but it just makes me more anal at keeping mine up as I can't replace it. I could care less about the new engine I want the back up camera and LSD on my car. Save my pennies I guess.

I think everyone should read the Car and Driver column from last month that said "The customer is always right.....and you are not the customer." The vast majority of cars in the US are chosen from dealer inventory. The dealers order what they think will sell and make the most profit for them. And it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. One year they say, "sedan and coupe sales were down 3% this year. Let's not order as many of them next year," and so the next year people see fewer sedans and coupes and more crossovers and SUV's. And that year sedan and coupe sales are down another 10%. And so on.
