He posted his dyno graphs a short while ago. The car is not 600whp. Its closer to 450. The NOS might push it over 600 but its momentary and he isn't running it down low.

Wesley ran .5 slower with much less horsepower, it doesn't make sense.

Nobody said anything about 600whp. He said 600hp which is ~530whp which is about right with the nitrous as I stated in my original post.

What doesn't make sense? The calculation for air resistance is a parabolic equation with respect to velocity. The faster you go, the harder it becomes to overcome the air resistance and therefore the power you need to overcome this resistance becomes parabolic, not linear. Now add in the fact that he had a 20mph headwind and it explains everything.

I guess. I don't know much about drag racing so I should keep my mouth shut it seems lol.

That has to feel great for them to get that monkey off their back. Very cool! Now time to experiment with turbos until they can just do it on boost!
No point on a stock motor and head. Csr needs to rev more and have better flowing heads to get a bigger turbo off the line and up on the 2 step. Anything bigger then a g25-550 is gonna be useless.

I agree with your sentiment. I should elaborate that I don't care if they stick to stock block/heads/etc. I'm just excited for the progression. Is there a build thread somewhere on the deets about this car? I'm under the impression that the bottom end is stock, but they probably have done work to the heads and replaced the camshafts? I appreciate the pioneers that have the means to slam up against a bottleneck/limitation and crash through.

It definitely feels like it will be awhile before substantial gains are made on this front. Looks like they are winding out that bad girl pretty good to get 130 out of fourth. I haven't done the calculations, but I'm sure like you said... a built bottom end would comfortably let them rev out even higher.

Its not the bottom end that is the limitation on revs per say its more the poor head design and the cams that were designed for low end torque (low lift). The stock ecu is also pretty restricting.

I mean the title to the video literally says "600+whp"... So those are directly his claims (or whoever runs that channel). It does seem a little slow for the power claims, but most of that is probably traction issues.

Your a quoting a post I made before they turned up the boost/nitrous further. So at the time, before the 10 second run, what I had said was accurate.

It’s a completely unopened engine. So no head work.

He claims he is now shooting for 1000whp.

Even more impressive then. I only was "questioning/skeptical" when the guy in the video was saying stock block. People like to play "technicalities" and stretch truths such as stock block.... but forged bottom end, or unopened, but headstuds/bolts replaced. I'm am extremely impressed with the motor then. Shit the 4g63's usually loose head gaskets pretty regularly when pushing 500+whp with stock head studs. Color me impressed. If its truly unopened, one would have to believe valve springs, cams, and a thoughtful port job should have them making another giant leap in power. Then it will be the game of getting support for better transmission internals. Quick search doesn't show any of the gear specialists I'm familiar with making gears for this platform yet. Might be time to become friends with PPG.
