Hey guys just looking to see if anyone out there has purchased the Bosch Uprated injectors from Ron over at whoosh. Cause I just picked up a set. Just wondering how the install went and if a tune is needed ASAP after installing. Thanks for the help!

Yes you will need a tune directly after installing them as the scaling will be way off.

Also just so you all are aware. I’m not sure if anyone has done the research on it yet or not. But, “Uprated” Bosch fuel injectors are the same injectors used in one of Jaguars 3.0 motors. So save yourself some money and buy them that way. Only $80.00 a piece.

That makes a lot more sense than does the idea that Bosch would spend any time designing uprated injectors specifically for the 1.6EB. And, if this is true, shame on those selling them at a premium to the FiST community just because they know the Bosch P/N.

woah woah woah

now this is news. tell me more
Yeah man I found it odd that when I bought these injectors from whoosh there was pound per hour or cc rating on the injector. Only stated on the website is 93% more efficient. So whatever I bought them. I went online once receiving the injectors to find out what cc they are or whatever they’re glow rate is. And come to found out they are OEM jaguar injectors. All the numbers match perfectly. SKU, part number, all the etchings on the injector itself match. Just a little odd to me dint ya say?

Essentially what you are paying for is the machine work on the jaguar injectors to accept the larger seals found on the factory fiesta injectors. You can use them without modification, but you'll have to leave a clip out to have it seal properly, and it will protrude into the combustion chamber.

You could try to have them machined yourself, but that might be costly as well.

Again, someone who has access to a CNC machine / lathe. You can't run them the way they come new. That person would have to machine them, double seal them, and test them.

Quick maths:

4x injectors @ $80 ea = $320

$739.99-$320 = $419.99

which means you're paying around $420 to have them machined, and re sealed. Not everyone will have access to a shop capable of machining it to exactly the right tolerances, and I can't imagine it would be cheap. But by all means someone take it on.

I'd rather pay the $740 to make sure they are done right and have no issues with them at all.

BTW this applies to the ones pumaspeed supplies. I have no idea if the ones Whoosh has are the same or different, but it looks like they are just the normal drop in ones. Same as Pumaspeed sells.

Edit:

Adam at Tune+ says there is no modification necessary for the ones sold by whoosh, so if those are the same injectors. Send it.
