Alright guys, so I've realized I had some inconsistencies with boost prefer relative to what pumaspeed says I should be making and when the car is actually making it. I posted on a facebook group and mitch told me to check my actuator. This was one of the things I had that guy rob at the beginning of my build install and well.... he installed yet another thing incorrectly. There was no preload on the actuator. I was making 14.5 psi of boost at 3750 rpm when I should have been making that at 2750. Car pulls really hard and when it stops raining I'll try to get a vdyno for you guys. I think this is the last thing rob touched that I haven't looked over so I shouldn't be having any issues after.

I have 2 catch cans and have checked them and regularly check them. I have no boost leak. Tightening the actuator the the correct preload fixed the issue and I'm getting it to spool to 1 atmosphere far sooner. A lot of people told me my engine mods are gonna push the spool farther to the right of the power band.

I'm wondering why as the rpms go higher and go over 5500 I'm tanking in hp. I did do part of this run on an incline. Could that be the issue?

Probably spinning tires a bit or hit a bump. You have GTX spool, usually on catch cans that go to the manifold you should have a check valve or it can leak boost from there. I've had the issue along with some friends as well.

Are you saying that I could potentially have to "cheap" of a check valve and may need a tougher one? I mean I did check to make sure it was closed but it could possibly be leaking by.

I had a UPR that failed ended up with a Damond Motorsports check valve on my Mishimoto catch-can. Just saying check everything more then once. I spent a good month tracking down small leaks and stuff. Even had to change the check valve on the purge valve side because the insides of it disappeared... LOL

Just delete all that crap and go back to stock Pcv system...you have Aux fuel now....wont have much to catch. I deleted mine as my can caught less and less with Aux fuel running. Just an FYI....food for thought

Mine still catches quite a bit, so I'll leave it on for now.

You’ll catch plenty, but with an aux fuel system the valves get solvent (gasoline) passing over them so it doesn’t matter. The whole point of the catch can, if you buy into it, is that it catches the stuff that would stick to your valves. With an aux fuel system even if the stuff does touch your valves it isn’t gonna build up because your system self cleans. Of course there’s still stuff coming up from the PCV system, it just doesn’t matter anymore.

This is where I'm at after 4 hrs of work. Keep systematically labeling connectors and hoses.

Hope you got yourself a a Costco size container of assorted color zip ties. Makes keeping track of connections real easy.

Alright guys, another dyno reading. Actuator had no preload on it so I'm basically starting the tune over ugh. But I opted to not do a normal fueling tune so it will save more time. decent.jpg

How did I not bother searching for this thread last month before I swapped mine? lol... I didn't have any major problems (other than it being a 145k mile car with the expected retapping of mount holes and such) but I definitely could have gone in with more confidence. lol Good job! :)

Thanks man. Yeah I've had quite a few issues but thats what happens when you do a major overhaul without a service manual lol.
