you will love it! i just finished my last 93 revision, moving to e30 and i can tell you now that just on 93, shes violent!
car has really been a blast.
I’ll have to wait until the spring before e30. After tomorrow temps will fall in the Midwest and traction will be a serious issue.

Right now as we speak, I am flashing the last revision then it will be complete.

great!!
let me know your max psi...mine is a little up of 29, red line is about 7000 rpm
no idea how many HP but feel really good in 93 octanes
I am about to get the e30 tune
let me know yopur comments buddy

Finally got my S280 installed and did some data logging. Sent results to Jason, waiting on next tune rev, or sorting any issues. Thought I'd take a look at spool relative to stock turbo, was initially thinking I'd get some read for my set-up. Looking at the results, I'm thinking I can't really evaluate yet as WGDC=0. I was looking through Cobb online info to better understand Airflow calc, and I noticed they recommended WGDC=0 for 1st run with a "Big" turbo, so that may be why it's 0 - I initially thought something was wrong with my install. Also noticed they recommended controlling to TIP rather than Boost. I made the attached plots and labeled with ? where I'm guessing. Still learning, so not certain. Doesn't look like we can log WG position, so can't answer some of my questions by logging. If anyone is interested and knows the answers, feedback is welcome.

it definitely seems wise to start with WGDC at 0 for safety. With boost pressure going directly to the actuator nipple, one will get boost pressure that is roughly the equivalent to the pressure setting of the spring. I am a complete newbie to the fiesta, but I have messed with a ton of wastegates in the past and the pressure of the spring is usually about where it starts to "crack" open. So, if there is a reasonable amount of preload on the actuator (so that the flapper door is reasonably tight), you should not really get any wastegate flapper opening until you hit the boost pressure which causes the spring to be overcome.

I'm not sure what pressure spring you have in your actuator, but considering the above it looks like this turbo exhibits boost creep. No big deal of course (since it is not creeping higher than you were going to eventually tune it to anyway),

Ok, so I have a 14psi TS WGA, so thinking that's a 14psi spring. I set the preload, so based on what you're saying the WG shouldn't open until 14psi + preload? That may explain the corner point. I've been trying to understand the change in the characteristic at ~3k. Maybe that's where the WG starts to open? 16-17 psi. Yeah, not worried about the creep to 20psi, since I'll be 28-30 in the end.

Won't open until 14 PSI WITH proper preload.

Yes....I think you have it figured out✔️

The change in characteristic at 3000 rpm is when the wastegate is opening in earnest to actually bypass exhaust gas to control boost. The creep to 20 psi is probably becuase the wastegate hole simply cant bypass enough exhaust to keep boost lower than that at higher rpm.

Edit based on feedback. Seems this is likely correct now.

If so, the lower part of the curve with WG closed is where I'm at with spool. Haven't thought through whether tune revisions may affect that characteristic.

One other item.... I believe your wastegate is using map pressure for its signal, while you are logging tip pressure in these plots. I'm not sure what the pressure drop is across the throttlebody, but I would guess that tip should always be higher than map when under boost. At park throttle with boost I would suspect there could be a pretty significantly large differential between these two readings. At WOT, I'm not sure what it would be (Im sure someone has measured it....) but there must be some drop.

I plotted TIP since that is the target in the control logic in my case. I'm thinking the wastegate solenoid uses whatever the control logic is doing, but I'm not certain on that. I also wanted to show the target is well above actual, so it should not be affecting spool.

✔️✔️✔️

I know its old school (and has safety disadvantages) but the best boost control Ive ever used was mechanical. The WGA sees zero pressure until the target boost is reached so you know you are getting the fastest spool possible. Plus....its pitifully simple.

Looking at your boost curve, it appears youll hit 25 psi by the mid 3k range.....pretty good👍
