New thread to keep things on topic on the other one and hopefully get this seen sooner:)

I need to pull apart my transaxle to get to the diff, the only thing I have found so far is a very expensive option from Ford, if you know of something more reasonable, have something you can share, etc, please let me know.

I did see what looks like a "rental" period but I will need it for awhile but if that is all I can do let me know as well.

Thanks:)
Rick

I wish some one would have responded here. I am looking at the motorcraft online subscription http://www.motorcraftservice.com/ and was wondering if it covers the st. The price is not too bad especially if you can limit it to a month when you need it.

I have the Helm Inc myself...

I've been looking for a factory service manual as well. Helminc.com carries it, but it's pricey. Look towards the bottom of this link: http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result....15&Category=&Keyword=&Module=&selected_media=
I'm not sure it's worth it, unless you use it a lot. Rodmoe often posts screen captures from it when users need specific images of parts (torque specs and such are useful, but the instructions seem really disjointed to me). If you guys need something specifically, I'll launch the software and see what I can do.

On a personal note, I'm very annoyed the disc has copy protection rather than using basic licensing. I have a couple perfect laptops to tote around with the software on it while I'm working on the FiST, but I don't have optical drives in them (can you say "dinosaur?"). Really disappointed that I have to tote around an external DVD drive as well. I've hit the point where I'll copy/paste to MS Word, save as PDF, then load to my iPad. ANNOYING

You can get windows to create an ISO of your disc and then mount that ISO with virtual clone drive. That's what I do. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

Tried this already with the disc, it did not work unfortunately. Are you referring to ISOs in generally, or did you actually get the Helm Inc manual to work this way? :)

Sorry I cant really say for sure it'll work for the Helm one. I'm using an ebay nuff nuff copy for my personal use ;)
This is the screen I see.

Oh for the ISO part I may have used this software> http://www.imgburn.com/
It's free but make sure you uncheck the box to install adware from memory.

What's the exact issue you get? I can tell you I'm not using a hard copy dvd (just virtual clone drive) and all works :)

My friend tried to burn it to USB, but I don't believe he tried mounting it as a virtual drive. I guess I have a new challenge! :) Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can get it to work.

EDIT: AWESOME!! You rock! I used ImgBurn to create the ISO and saved it to the root of the C drive, installed the manual, then installed Virtual CloneDrive. Fiddle with the settings a bit and that's it. I also hate how much my external DVD drive whines, and how long I have to wait when clicking on half the links. Now that it's just running on my internal SSD, it's smokin' fast! Rep point for you, sir :)

To mount the virtual drive - http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

To create the ISO image - http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Glad to help you out. I know how helpful and also frustrating technology can be.

$177.00 for the CD is not a bad price.
I always buy a copy for the cars I own.
I just consider it another tool.

How comprehensive is that ebay service manual? Does it include wiring diagrams and everything?

Well I don't have a comparison but it seems good. It's got the service pictograms that I see Rodmoe use. It has electrical schematics too.
