Definitely, especially if we are starting to get close to the max of the stocker fuel pump with the stock turbo and aggressive tuning. As people start to go larger turbos, the issue will become more prevalent. Then we will have to worry about where the stock block/ rods/ Pistons will give :). I just don't want to be the one to find out, lol.

Yea. Really its sad though. Its not so much the fuel pumps problem. We have timing belts with that we can only load the cam so much. We can use high lift lobes for the DI pumps like most timing chain engines get to. Also we could have went to a 4 lobe design but they tend to create issues with pulsations. So its not to much the pump. I am willing to bet internally we have the same pump as say a FoST we just cant stroke the pump as much there for making it smaller.

I work with DI pumps and lobe designs for pretty much every make and model out there so i get the inside scope on some pretty cool stuff.

Yeah, I guess I should say stock fueling setup instead of pump. Either way, something to increase the output.

No you were right in saying pump because we cant all go swapping camshafts lol It worked ok for the LT1 v8 guys but they have small chains and low loads. We have to have a bigger pump to make up for the other stuff i was explaining. Just giving a back ground of the DI system really.

This car and direct injection in general are fairly new to me, lol. Cars like my 2011 Mustang GT and my 2009 Subaru WRX were a little simpler in the fuel supply side of the house. I guess a lot of that had to do with the available upgrades....drop in pumps, boost a pumps, etc. With the Subi, map sharing was plentiful so a lot of knowledge was passed around. With the Mustang, trial and error happened quickly...at least with the Coyote platform. I was in that community early in its life and the tuning bandwagon filled quickly, lol

I was at PRI a couple weeks about in the Injector dynamics seminar talking to a few guys from ID and Bosch Motorsports about how complex everything is getting and those that dont make learning this stuff there full time are going to fall be hind. I wish it would stay a little more simple. I keep thinking about making a simple Port injection kit for our cars wondering if that would be easier. Basically allows the stock fuel system and computer to control its 300hp worth and i can ad on say a 200hp fuel system to the port.

Options! lol...

Just like everything, designing this stuff take a lot of money and testing to make it safe to sale to the public. It's not an easy task, lol. I really think that a lot of people don't understand that as I read post all of the time where people say that it should have been done a certain way vice the was it was done. Yet, I don't see them out doing the R&D.

This is the reason I try to support the new venders coming up on these forums. Especially with a car like the FiST with a much smaller market than some others. It keeps the aftermarket alive with these vehicles.

Sourskittle is a good guy, on the forum at least. That's as far as I know. I've learned a lot from reading his progress.

Yea for sure. I was sending him stuff once and while and he said you should really post progress pictures the threads to let me know what your doing. He made a good point. I dont like to because more times than not on some forums its a constant battle to try and teach someone something when they argue or get nasty with you for no reason. It seems pretty good on here though. I have enjoyed this community so far. When i was doing Honda, Evo, and Subaru i never once went on forums to post. My old facebook page and local talk is all i did. But i want more than that something nice and i went with the ST market. I like it. Cant wait till the track opens lol

The nastiness comes from the arrogance of some people, IMHO. There's nothing wrong with questioning someone's theory or wanting to see proof and offering a better way if necessary, but some people have a hard time doing that without being insulting. Then again, some people are just know it alls who can't swallow their pride enough to learn.

Pretty much. Ill never for get i was in a debate with some(in person) we started to math out the issue it was a fueling problem half way through it hit me i missed a variable and i stopped and said sorry your right. I work and grew up with some of the big name people in the industry getting smacked down and being wrong was part of my learning process and it drives me nuts when people dont relax and talk stuff through with out insult. Joking is fine lol but you know what i mean im sure lol.

but back on track were getting off it haha

Yes I do know what you mean :). The sad thing is that when you have people who insult mistakes or shut down ideas, it slowly stops a forum community from going because people will quit sharing ideas out of fear of being insulted or nonsense. They will just take their ideas somewhere else where the are accepted.

Now back on track, lol
