Does anyone find it weird that the radio stays on when you turn
off your ignition button? Turns off when I open the door. I find it a
tad annoying.

Just wondering if that's the norm or if there's a way to disable it...

Cheers

Every other car I've owned the radio shuts up when ignition is turned off. To be fair though...yeah
they were all pre-2000 cars.

It's normal, mang. Program it out? I don't know. Worth searching for an answer? No.

No way to program it out. Main reason it stays on is that if you are using the hands free phone you can continue to conversation with the car turned off while sitting in the car, also the power windows(except sunroof) will have power until you open the door.

[confuse][screwy]...really? And just as an aside, even if you sit in the car after shutting it off, it only stays on for about 10-15 minutes or until you open the door. Not long enough to make an appreciable dent in the battery, unless your battery is already in bad shape.

That makes sense. Cheers for the educated answer.

I have the opposite issue in me 2011 ses. It's a push button start and when the button is pressed to turn the engine OFF (to accessory mode), the radio turns off. Is there a way to reprogram/rewire it so the radio stays on until the car is actually fully off?

Decade+ year old thread.

If it's a 2011, I don't think it's an ST ??

Was it started by holding the remote against the steering column?

If there are codes set in the BCM, it can disable a number of features including delayed power off.

As a tangential topic, last year I ran into an issue where the Sync 3 module was not powering down; the screen would look like it went dark, but when you looked at the screen in pitch-black dark, it was still glowing. This was giving me about 0.5 amp/hour of power drain (yeah! It was crazy!).

I Googled - nothing. I called 4D Tech thinking that they probably knew the Sync 3 system better than anyone, and they were extremely helpful. The tech talked me through how to reset the module - problem solved.

If I ever need anything they sell, I for sure would go back to them. They do sell the Sync 1 to Sync 3 upgrade.

2011 ses, non-ST. Push button start. It was started by clutch+push button start. But when push button again to kill engine it doesn't go to ACC mode.

I think they fixed this in later ones/ST by having it go into ACC mode if clutch is held down?

What should I look for in the BCM options? I have FORscan running.

May have to check with other SES owners to see what standard behavior is for that vehicle. If the BCM doesn't have any active/stored codes, then it could be default behavior for that year and trim level? I assume you can just press the button to turn the radio right back on? Sometimes I sit in the car for longer than 15 minutes and when the radio shuts off, I just hit the button to turn it right back on.

That's right turning it back on after turning the engine off with the power button to get music back is no issue. It's when I'm on a call on bluetooth and can't turn the engine off and forced to idle or take the phone off its mount and put it on speaker phone before turning the engine off that's annoying
