BOOST ON S280 TURBO

Hi everyone, i would like to hear back from ppl running the s280 turbo, how much boost do you run? What sort of power you making and do you still run the stock map.sensor and t sensor ( the one in the cold side pipe) ?

Don't get mislead into boost numbers, they're not everything see, to give an example a larger turbo can output more air at a lower psi than a smaller turbo at higher PSI.... Not to mention our cars are tuned but torque demand and that will change from engine to engine and environmental factors. A better question is how much power are you looking to make?

I'm not big turbo yet, but I feel the S280 will be on the upper end of it's limit for that level of power... I myself have my eye on a GTX2860, which can supply that level of power easily! Though I'm looking for 3-330whp with room to grow when I get bored of the power

Loaded question. Fuel? Supporting mods? All that affects the amount of boost you can run. With fuel mods and E55 I'm running 28psi. It's most I would do on the stock block if you want it to last. You can have more fun at 32psi, but it won't last for too long. Search the S280 thread where there is tons of info.

Ethanol is really the key to power with this car. On 93 you’re going to make 275-285whp no matter what bigger turbo you pick. S280 can make 320-320 on ethanol and a bit more but you’re really pushing the turbo there. I have an s280, gtx2860 and a g25-550. Currently on the 2860 making right around 300whp on straight pump e85 and can’t imagine wanting any more power. Already traction limited on 215 wide 615k+ tires. They grip on the track when warm but for street driving temps there’s nothing you can do to stop them wanting to spin. ~28-30 psi is the sweet spot on the 2860 and g25. I haven’t ran the s280 since upgrading the fuel system for pump e85, but it was around 28 as well.

How does the 2860 compare to the g25? I've been leaning towards that direction
