Greetings,
I just wanted to say hello from the Chicago suburbs. My car has every option except the Recaro package and I couldn't be happier. I am 5'11" and 230lbs so I didn't quite fit in the Recaros. The only thing I miss so far is the heated mirrors. It would have been nice to have those and I still may retrofit them. I have had the car for just over a week and have already put 670 miles on it.
I come from a 2002 Jeep Liberty that I put 230,000 miles on before it finally jumped a couple teeth in the timing chain. That caused me to put a couple pistons into my valves and really screwed things up. I plan on dealing with the loss of 4wd by getting good snow tires. I'm not too worried.
As odd as it sounds, the Fiesta ST is my "boring" daily and I plan on keeping it bone stock (with exception of stuff like window tint etc). I have a 2001 Miata that I turbocharged and was last dyno'd at about 240hp to the wheels. I am in the process of an engine build which will allow me to push into the 300s. My thinking in buying the Fiesta was that I wanted a car that was fun to drive, got good gas milage, and was reliable. To this end I extended the factory bumper to bumper warranty to 75,000 miles. This will allow me to take my time on the Miata and make it even more of a summer monster.
