Is MAP the only company that makes stainless steel charge pipes? I did a small amount of research and all of the others appear to be aluminum or silicone. Also, does anyone know the diameter of the MAP charge pipes? Couldn't find the info on their site.

Send them an email. They respond fairly quickly. Also ask them for their best price, they usually knock off a bit if I buy stuff from them

May I ask why you're looking specifically for stainless steel?

Intercooler pipes are normally aluminum or silicone from what I've seen across all other platforms.

I live in the rust belt and would rather not have to replace them again, otherwise I would get aluminum.

I live in the very same rust belt, just a touch to your North. Throughout all the cars I've owned and modded, I've never seen a hint of corrosion on aluminum charge pipes. To be fair, I've always chosen powder coated vs. polished aluminum.

Currently have aluminum on my car, and saw the first salt truck of the year in action yesterday, so we'll see if my luck holds.

i am no expert but is aluminium not used as it disperses heat soak more quickly?

Well I just learnt that aluminum does not rust, it only corrodes, which explains why so many options are aluminum.

Many of the companies here in the U.S. offer the pipe only in aluminum (CPE, Mishimoto, MBRP). I am not sure about how aluminum would fare against stainless steel in the heat soak department (I would guess they would be close?), but I know stainless steel runs a bit hotter than plastic (MAP provided this in their R&D thread, they had slightly higher charge temps but better overall performance). I would assume that aluminum would run a bit hotter than plastic as well, although MBRP does claim "Lower Temps" on DHM's website, however I haven't seen any data to support that so logic is telling me that plastic would still run cooler than aluminum.

There is probably someone more knowledgeable on this subject than I but I think replacing the OEM hot-side pipe would result in negligible differences in charge temps as it is before the intercoooler, I think replacing the cold-side OEM plastic with aluminum/stainless steel is where you would see the differences in charge temps.
