Chevy Corvette Z06 priced at $78,995

Chevy says the base Z06 for 2015 will start at $78,995 including destination charges. The convertible version for the wealthy and confused will start at $83,995. The major options: a $2,995 Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package for extra doses of downforce and the Z07 Performance Package ? namely Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires, adjustable aero bits and carbon ceramic brakes ? runs $7,995.

I like it but like the zr1 I can see the supercharger heat soaking after a few pulls.

But if you aren't drag racing the heat soak isn't really an issue. Corvettes like to turn.

IMO, this price is INSANE. Last year's Z06 was priced at $75,600 and you get SO much more car for the money this time around. It's for sure a ZR1 killer, and it will likely crush anything priced south of $400,000
