Seems like Mountune's business model now is like what FSWerk was doing before..you get a rebranded AP and if you pay $150 you can get a custom tune within a 45 day window.

So I went onto Cobb site an saw the 10% off for the AP. Does anyone know if cobb will also do 10% off on the stage 1?

It's Cobb's ots tunes...but you can only access the optomized calibration with a Mountune AP
So, they build you an "optimized" calibration based on if you have an aftermarket intercooler/DP/intake. Cobb's ots tunes are in stages based on the sake thing.

I just don't see much of a difference? BTW I'm not trying to be an a-hole, I'm genuinely just trying to figure out what the difference is

My understanding is that mountune does custom calibrations based on your mods and different datalogs captured with your AP that you send them via email and they create a calibration based on your specific vehicle etc. I believe this is randy's specialty (he used to do the same thing at FSWerks i think). Cobb's OTS maps are much more general and therefore not optimzed for your specific setup, just something they can sell to work somewhat well with everyone's car (hence they are free).

However today only, a custom calibration from mountune is free if you buy an AP from them. Already placed my order haha

Everything can be custom tuned using the accessport and datalogs never touching the dyno and still get a perfect tune. I am currently getting a e-tune like what Randy is offering.

What about those of us who bought our accessport through Fswerks, now that their tuner moved to Mountune? Are we out of luck for custom tunes?

Ya, you can do that with just the regular old Cobb unit.

Good Question I see they are offering tunes for folks that bought the AP for the FoST at 50 dollars a pop vs the 150 for non customers but I did NOT ask them if that is after the free one you get for purchasing from them..
