This is a highly recommended product. It is a B*tch to adjust properly to fit your needs but once completed fully rewarding. Also highly recommend adding mini washers to the first gear stopper set screw as this screw, if not locktight down will move often making it difficult to pop into first gear m. Lock tight is not recommend if any future adjustments need to be made.

Did you use a locking washer or just regular washers?

Mini lock washers work well although regular washers are a little better because they are thinner and you have more room to add or take off washers if needed without so much of a headache. I found that 4 washers sets the screw perfectly into first gear after locking down the screw
