I think that it's time to upgrade the cooling of my FiST to keep up with summer time HPDE days. I like the simplicity of an upgraded radiator with the stock water-to-oil heat exchanger, but I think that I may get more cooling bang for my buck with a separate oil cooler.

Any thoughts out there?

My money is on the radiator. Just due to the fact a lot of websights have the misihimoto radiator on sale 500 ish vs the regular 700 it. A lot of track guys end up right installing both. I'd just take advantage of the mark down prices. Also PM mod bargains they got a deal on those

what about swapping out the rad fluid for waterless coolant.

After my first day out having huge coolant spikes I brought this up to some of the guys I know running bigger turbos. A few of them swear by Mishimoto thermostat fixing lots of problems. Mine should be here end of week but I'm not sure when I'll be testing it next.

After my first day out having huge coolant spikes I brought this up to some of the guys I know running bigger turbos. A few of them swear by Mishimoto thermostat fixing lots of problems. Mine should be here end of week but I'm not sure when I'll be testing it next.
You might as well buy the radiator because to get to the thermostat you have to remove the entire front end, radiator, and even the alternator needs to be unbolted and the serpentine belt removed to get access to the thermostat. I just did the install a couple weeks ago while I was doing the radiator.

Wow, what a PITA.....does anyone know how to change the fan settings? Changing the thermostat without the fan settings doesn't make much sense?

The fan is more for stop and go traffic where ambient air isn't flowing enough to cool the engine and/or A/C condenser.

^ This. Fwiw though, fan settings are accessible through ATR or your tuner.
