Curb Rash - Black Machined Lip

Any advice for taking care of curb rash on a rim with a black lip? Don't know what I can do apart from sanding down the burrs and spray painting/sharpie-ing(?) the affected area black. Don't want to buy a replacement wheel already [facepalm]...
