wasn't the solenoid. new solenoid actually caused MORE problems. so i swapped the old one back in, and i'm bracing my bank account for a turbo replacement.

A gently used stock one shouldn’t be too hard to come by. Or just send it and big turbo lol

174k mile block won't like an S280... and my budget barely has room for a $600 stock turbo job (including gaskets, lines, etc)
