Hi Enthusiasts. In south Africa we have a lot of break in's with the fords. Is the a better lock barrel that you know off. Also does the doors open from the inside if locked and the battery dies. My older car has electric with mechanical locking.

Not sure which model y'all get down in South Africa but usspec back hatch won't open if no battery and they don't have a safety escape either which was stupid

Otherwise if you unlock the doors prior to pulling the battery that solves 4/5 of the doors. The back 2 doors in my car won't unlock from the inside with no power but the fronts do even when battery is pulled.

That's a bit of good news on the front doors. Reason I'm worried is I know of an accident where the guy was trapped in the car cause the doors could not unlock

If you have the fear of getting locked in your car then a tool like this should be carried.

Automatic Center Punch

Just use on any side or rear glass.
It will not work on the windshield.

Cool man. Was thinking of something like that. There are also glass breaker key chains
